Scruffy Buns is a small, independent mid-day walking service that offers safe and fun exercise outings and potty breaks in downtown Omaha and Midtown Crossing.
My name is Ronnie, a downtown resident and proud mother of a scruffy bearded Chihuahua mix rescue.
My love of dogs prompted me to start full time pet sitting businesses in Colorado and Florida. Now that my husband and I have permanently settled into downtown Omaha, I'm excited to return to doing what I love: taking care of your furry besties with fun-filled walkies.
• experienced doggie caretaker (owned a pet care business for 10 years and
took care of hundreds of dogs, including rescues, special needs doggies, blind, deaf, shy doggies and as well as distinguished seniors)
• independent, local, registered Omaha business
• fully insured for your protection
• an alternative for pet parents who prefer not to utilize Uber-style corporate-owned pet sitter apps (the most popular pet care app is owned by a multi-billion dollar investment company that is gobbling up rental homes across the country.)
• references (from past clients who are very familiar with me and my services)
• owner-operated (you will always know who is showing up to walk your dog....me!)
• criminal background checked
• Dog CPR/First Aid certified
• member of Pet Sitters International (an organization that offers premium dog walking insurance policies, access to dog first aid/CPR training as well as a plethora of dog safety/health resources)
This website is under construction while my business undergoes appropriate startup requirements. I will begin scheduling meet and greets in August.
In the meantime, feel free to contact me if you would like more information.
Thanks for visiting,
-Ronnie

Dog Requirements
Dogs must be friendly to people and other pets, and must not have any history of aggression or biting.
Pet parents must show proof of up-to-date vaccinations.
An identification tag must be worn on your dog's collar during scheduled walks.
Dogs will remain on a leash at all times during their walks.
Weight / Breeds
This dog walking service specializes in the littles! (small and medium-small dogs)
Dogs must weigh under 30 pounds.
Furthermore, for insurance and liability reasons, I do not accept any of the "bully breeds" or mixes of those breeds.
Service Area
My service area is limited to the following buildings:
• The Greenhouse
• Beebe & Runyan
• 902 Dodge Condos
• Capital Place Apartments
• Brickline at The Mercantile
• Midtown Crossing
Safety
Your dog will remain on leash at all times.
I do not offer off-leash dog park outings.
Visitor Parking Access for Me
In order to efficiently provide walking services for your dog, I will need access to a free guest parking space directly on your building site.
Cancellations
I understand that unexpected circumstances occur and you may need to cancel a scheduled dog walk. There is no charge for cancellations. Just notify as soon as you can.
Holidays
There will be no walking services provided on the following holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day.
Other People With Access To Your Home
Please notify me about any person(s) who have access to your home while you are away, including maid service, contractors, relatives, etc.
Severe Weather
I take extra precautions when it comes to our typical Omaha high heat indexes, especially for our brachycephalic friends(flat or short snouted), senior citizens and dogs with heavy coats. I always test the sidewalk surface heat to protect your baby's paws. If the heat index is too high, your dog's walk will be shortened.
Furthermore, if Bill Randby's sleeves are rolled up, walks will be delayed until the storm passes.

“Thanks again for the wonderful service. Apparently, our mutts love you…and we are jealous! They never jump up and down for us and we witnessed them doing just that when you stopped by yesterday. Are you covertly carrying treats in all of your pockets? You are a wonderful pet sitter!” — Stan, father of Yoda & Yumi
“Ronnie is extremely responsible and conscientious. She understands that my pets are my children and treats them with love, attention, and devotion. My dog and cat absolutely adore her.” — Kathy, mother of Timber & Koda
“It has been 2 years now that my dog Gibbus fell in love with Ronnie. She takes the absolute best care of “Gib”. I work 12 hour shifts and I never have to worry that Gib won’t get a good walk, lots of hugs, love and treats when Ronnie comes to visit. I would highly recommend Ronnie to anyone looking for someone to take excellent care of their pet while they are away. Thanks Ronnie, and thanks for coming into Gib’s life!!!”
— Mel, mother of Gibbus
“It’s a great feeling when we’re away from home not to worry about our girl. I know she is getting a lot of attention and being treated like the princess she thinks she is. Ronnie is attentive to everything, dependable, follows all of our annoying requests, and extremely trustworthy.” — Dave, father of Zoey
“Ronnie cared for my big old yellow Lab for 3 years…we were SO SAD when she left Colorado! I have used several other pet sitters over the years and none of them can compare! Ronnie is reliable, caring, flexible, trustworthy…never anything to worry about when I’m away…whether it’s 1 night or 3 weeks. I would recommend Ronnie to anyone. You’d be lucky to have her taking care of your pet!” — Dave, father of Imani
“We signed up for daily potty breaks, but Ronnie made it into so much more for our dog Jacky. She always went above and beyond and her willingness to be flexible to best suit Jack’s needs regardless of her own personal schedule demonstrates how important her clients are to her. Never have we felt more at peace, knowing he was in such caring, loving hands.” — Gwen, mom of Jacky
“Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you do for us and for taking care of the pups and loving them! We will never have a better pet sitter than you!”
— Reka, mommy of Murray and Bogart
“The first time we met Ronnie, she was on time, friendly, and just an all-around sweet person. We soon realized we hit the jackpot when she started walking my pups. I literally handed her my house key and said “have fun”! She has turned out to be the most dependable and trustworthy person.” — P.J. mommy of Lucy Loo and Phoebe Buffay
“When we book Ronnie for overnight stays we feel like we are buying “the girls” an all-inclusive 5 star spa vacation. We love her so much that we wouldn’t book our tickets to France until we booked her first. We felt so relaxed knowing that the girls were safe and having a blast back at home with their “Miss Ronnie”. — Emily, mom of Juniper & Roxy
“I just want to say thank you for being such an amazing dog sitter. You really went above and beyond and I just want you to know how much Max and I appreciate it! Thank you again.” — Julie, mother of Max
“We love to travel on occasion, but have been reluctant simply because we didn’t want to leave our dog Kramer. That has changed now that we know Ronnie will care for him. She is a tremendous care giver, Kramer likes her, and that is good enough for me.”
— Jim, father of Kramer

Westgate Animal Hospital.
My go-to Omaha vet clinic for my Chihuahua. Such a kind, caring staff and just all around wonderful veterinary care.
VEG ER For Pets
I'm excited to learn that Omaha now has an emergency veterinary clinic that is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
Located at 132nd & Maple.
Downtown Hound has been a life saver for my Chi, who absolutely despises having his nails trimmed. Their groomer, who is such a sweet person, utilizes a special suspended doggie sling that keeps my dog calm and completely prevents him from thrashing. Thanks to her, we no longer dread our nail trim appointments.
